Brazilian Butt Lift - Top Plastic Surgeon Pittsburgh, PA

When evaluating our attractiveness, we inevitably consider the shape of our buttocks. As a result, many individuals try to take action through healthy living efforts to “plump up” this part of their body. But even with a healthy diet and exercise, patients often experience a “flat” buttocks that lacks the rounded shape our society seeks.

Brazilian butt lift surgery, however, can help patients overcome this limitation (which is often created by genetics rather than lifestyle). The Brazilian butt lift procedure helps patients achieve a fuller, rounder buttock contour. The procedure also helps to reshape the surrounding areas, such as the hips, lower back, and thighs. The result is a more appealing, confidence-boosting figure that patients take pride in.

If you are considering this type of cosmetic surgery, you can be assured that you are in good hands. Dr. Capone has 35 years of experience in plastic and reconstructive procedures, including Liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lifts. He performs surgeries at the Shadyside Surgi-Center on Centre Avenue in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. A More Natural Approach to Augmentation Surgery

Unlike silicone buttock implants, A Brazilian Butt Lift gives patients a much more rounded, natural-looking backside. This is done by transferring the patient’s own fat from unwanted areas, purifying it, and injecting it back into the buttocks. Dr. Capone is extensively experienced in this procedure, and provides consultations to help patients evaluate their options for surgery.

Before and After

What is a Brazilian butt lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks. The procedure strategically injects fat removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs (rather than using implants to create results).

A Brazilian butt lift procedure involves three basic steps:

  • Fat is removed from an appropriate area or areas with liposuction.
  • The extracted fat is purified and prepared for transfer
  • Dr. Capone injects the fat into specific points on the buttocks to increase volume and improve shape.

Who is an ideal candidate for Brazilian butt lift?

In general, Brazilian butt lifts can be offered to patients who meet the following criteria:

  • They are interested in a buttock augmentation that does not use implants
  • They have a high-quality skin tone in the hips and buttocks
  • They have adequate fat stores in appropriate areas that can be harvested for injection into the buttocks
  • They are willing and able to avoid lying or sitting directly on their buttocks for several weeks as part of recovery

What is the best way to prepare for a Brazilian butt lift?

Patients interested in a Brazilian butt lift are asked to maintain a healthy diet (low in carbs) and stay hydrated prior to their surgery, to promote good digestion and support a healthy immune system. A good diet can also help in recovery by reducing swelling, inflammation, and scarring.

If you are preparing for this procedure, it's also important to ensure your home is stocked up on any supplies needed. This includes antibacterial soap, healthy snacks, easy-to-prepare meals, ice packs, and a special pillow to reduce direct pressure on your buttocks after surgery.

Finally, we ask that patients not smoke if possible, as this can interfere with a patient’s recovery time

What can be expected after a Brazilian butt lift?

In general, post-op pain is minimal and easily controlled with OTC medication. However, patients will not be allowed to lie directly on their buttocks for about two weeks after a Brazilian butt lift.

By following your doctor’s instructions, you should be able to resume light daily activities within 1 week after surgery and return to work within 10 to 14 days. However, you will need to modify your sitting and posture to accommodate your ongoing recovery.

Normal sleeping on your back is typically allowed after 6 weeks or so.

How long does it take to see results after Brazilian butt lift?

As the swelling and redness decreases (over a period of six months maximum), patients will see the true extent of their surgical results in their shape, the fit of their clothing, and so forth. Brazilian butt lift results are meant to last for many years. Fat cells removed with liposuction will not return to the area, and fat cells that survive the transfer to the buttocks will remain for years to come. However, patients will need to maintain a stable weight as best as possible, as weight fluctuations can affect their results.
