Aging, weight loss, and childbearing can result in sagging, deflated breasts that make you look older. Breast lift surgery, otherwise known as mastopexy, firms, raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning tissue and nipples. It can help restore your breasts to a perkier, shapelier appearance. At Shadyside Surgi-Center, patients receive safe and effective care. We have a low infection rate compared to local hospitals and Dr. Capone has more than 40 years of experience. Dr. Capone can perform a simple breast enhancement procedure to improve the look of the breasts dramatically.

FAQs on Breast Lift Surgery:

How is Breast Lift surgery performed?

During breast surgery, loose skin around the breasts is removed. With less skin the preserved breast tissue firms up. This also moves the breasts back up the body, which gives you a perkier appearance and a better shape. Dr. Capone may then use synthetic mesh, or your own skin to support the breast on the bottom and he may use fat suctioned from other parts of the body to add fullness on top.

Fat transfer is another non-implant augmentation method that is becoming more popular nowadays. This procedure involves taking fat from other areas of the body and injecting it into the breasts.

How long does Breast Lift procedure take?

The procedure takes about two to three hours

Can Breast Lift surgery be done in conjunction with other procedures?

Breast lift surgery can be done either alone or combined with a breast reduction or augmentation. The size and shape of the breast implants used will depend on your aesthetic goals. Having breast implants in conjunction with a lift has proven to be a better option to enhance fullness, shape, and size as well as elevate the breasts to a higher, more youthful location. According to a University of California at Los Angeles study, a breast lift is also safe and beneficial when performed immediately following breast implant removal.

How long is the recovery time?

You can return to your regular activities within a few days of this procedure. After three weeks you can resume exercise. You will also have to wear a special support bra for a month or more.
