BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that is administered with a few tiny injections in the brow area. This minimally invasive treatment is simple, quick, and delivers dramatic results with minimal discomfort. Following BOTOX® treatment at our Pittsburgh plastic surgery practice, results can be seen as early as 24-48 hours later, and the effects last up to four months. Should you want permanent correction of the heavy brow look and brow furrow lines, forehead lift surgery can accomplish this enhancement.
In addition to BOTOX® - which is approved for treating forehead lines and crow's feet - we offer Dysport® injections to treat and prevent wrinkles. Dysport® is specifically helpful in addressing moderate to severe age lines that primarily affect the glabella, the area in between your eyebrows. Because they are especially noticeable when a person frowns, you may sometimes hear these lines referred to as frown lines. Dysport® is not recommended for the treatment of mild lines, however. In these mild cases, BOTOX® will be a better treatment option. Please consult with your doctor to determine if this type of injection is right for you.
